1. Compliance Information

EU Declaration of Conformity (RED Directive)

Bluda Tech hereby declares that the radio equipment type Mark01 is in compliance with Directive 2014/53/EU.

2. Safety Instructions

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the Mark device or other property.

Battery Safety:

  • The device contains an internal rechargeable Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery.
  • Do not puncture, crush, disassemble, heat (above operating limits), or incinerate the device. Damaging the battery can cause leakage, overheating, and potentially result in fire or explosion.
  • Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • If the device swells, leaks, or emits a strange odor, discontinue use immediately and contact support.

Charging Safety:

  • Charge the Mark01 using only the provided USB-C to USB-C cable.
  • Connect the cable to a certified USB power source that complies with standard USB specifications (e.g., a computer USB port, or a certified USB wall adapter conforming to relevant safety standards like IEC/EN 62368-1). A power adapter is not included.
  • Do not charge the device unattended. Disconnect the charger once charging is complete or if you leave the vicinity.
  • Stop charging immediately if the device becomes excessively hot during charging.
  • Ensure the USB-C port and cable connector are free from debris before charging.

Operating Environment:

  • For indoor use only. Do not expose the device to rain, moisture, or other liquids.
  • Operating Temperature Range: 10°C to 45°C (50°F to 113°F).
  • Storage Temperature Range: 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F). Avoid storing in conditions outside this range, especially extreme heat or cold.
  • Do not use or store the device outside the recommended operating temperature range. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

General Handling:

  • Handle the device with care.
  • Keep the device and its accessories out of reach of small children. The cap could be a choking hazard.
  • Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. Opening the device may cause damage or injury and will void the warranty. Contact customer support for service.

3. Usage Guidelines & Requirements

Intended Use: Mark01 is a handheld electronic device designed for consumers to capture text from physical documents (using line-scanning or document photo modes) and receive information, summaries, or answers generated by Large Language Models (LLMs) via a server connection. It visually resembles a highlighter pen.

Required App & Setup:

  • Using the Mark01 requires installing the companion Mark App on a compatible smartphone.
  • The app is necessary for device setup, configuration, accessing features, and provides detailed usage instructions.

Internet Connection: An active Internet connection via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz band, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) is required for the core functionality, including processing text, communicating with backend servers for LLM responses, and receiving potential software updates. Offline functionality is limited.

Smartphone Requirement: A compatible Smartphone (check compatibility via the app download page) with Bluetooth (for initial setup/pairing) and Wi-Fi/Internet access/Mobile data is required.

Lighting Conditions: The device's camera requires adequate ambient lighting to capture text effectively. Performance is significantly degraded or non-functional in dark or very low-light conditions for both scanning and photo modes.

Surface & Operation:

  • Designed for use on relatively flat paper surfaces. Wrinkled or glossy paper may affect performance.
  • Follow the instructions in the Mark App for proper use of Line Scanning Mode and Document Photo Mode.

Software Updates: The device's firmware (Initial Version: V1.0) may update automatically via Wi-Fi to improve functionality or security. Traceability may rely on server-side versioning.

Note: A USB power adapter (wall charger) is not included. Please use a certified USB power source.

6. Support & Warranty

Warranty: This product comes with a legally required limited warranty of one (1) year from the date of original purchase against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This warranty is subject to conditions and exclusions detailed in the Terms of Service found within the Mark App. Remedies may include repair, replacement, or refund at Bluda Tech's discretion. Opening the device voids the warranty.

7. Legal & Privacy

Your use of the Mark device and associated services (including the App and server processing) is subject to our legal terms and privacy policy. You were required to review and agree to these during the app setup process.

8. Disposal Information (WEEE – Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)

Separate Collection Required.

This symbol (crossed-out wheeled bin) on the product, battery, or packaging indicates that the product and its electronic accessories (e.g., charging cable) should not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of their working life.

To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, please separate these items from other types of waste and recycle them responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources.

EU household users should contact either the retailer where they purchased this product, or their local government office, for details on where and how they can take these items for environmentally safe recycling. Business users should contact their supplier and check the terms and conditions of the purchase contract. This product and its electronic accessories should not be mixed with other commercial wastes for disposal.
